Combat Shocking Electricity Costs
Upgrade the Grid
Increasing energy demand and outdated infrastructure mean that we have to act quickly and thoughtfully to ensure that everyone has access to cheap and reliable electricity. I support innovation and infrastructure to improve and protect our grid, which includes batteries, utilization, investments in both transmission and distribution, and protecting our grid from cyber attacks that could shut down vital services.
Clean Energy
We must streamline the permitting process for clean energy projects, and redistribute public subsidies more equitably across the energy portfolio, away from fossil fuels towards energy sources that will keep our utility bills down, our country safe, our communities healthy, and our economy competitive.
Pause Data Centers
We should not build AI data centers in communities without fully understanding and preparing for the impacts on the environment, electricity prices, and the work force. I support a moratorium on data centers until we have a better understanding of how we can protect our communities and regulate AI.
Protect the Environment and Mitigate Climate Change
We need to make sure that our communities are kept safe from pollution in our air, water, and soil, including the growing problems of PFAS and microplastics. To ensure a livable planet for our children, we need to invest in economy-wide decarbonization, removal of carbon directly from our atmosphere, and community resilience as we face the consequences of a warming world.
