A Country that Inspires Hope,

Not Fear.

Compassionate and Sensible Immigration Policy

Immigrants are foundational to this country. As the daughter of an immigrant, I believe our immigration policy should reflect fairness, dignity, legal integrity, and practical solutions that prioritize human rights and border safety. We must replace deterrence-focused detention with community-based reception systems and direct federal resources toward timely asylum processing and humanitarian support. Finally, we should strengthen coordination between government and civil society to ensure arriving migrants are welcomed and integrated into communities.

A Pathway to Citizenship

A significant number of undocumented people and families have become part of our communities, working in important industries like construction, eldercare, agriculture and other services. They are our neighbors who pay income taxes as well as support social security, even though they receive no benefit. At a time when our birth rate is declining, they have children who grow up and join our workforce and serve in our military. Regardless of how they got here, they are here now, peacefully contributing to our economy and communities. Instead of spending billions of dollars to frighten entire neighborhoods in order to arrest and deport them, we should give those without criminal records legal status and provide a path to citizenship.

Foreign Policy and International Aid

I believe our country is stronger and safer when we prioritize diplomacy, respect, and peace and adhere to international law. We need to robustly support USAID. We need to get rid of silo-based IBCMs as a step toward nuclear disarmament. And there is simply no place for unconditional support for any foreign government, especially for those that commit ethnic cleansings and genocide.
